The Artist's Way and writing challenges

  • 100 words in 100 days 33/100
  • WIP: Midnight Ride Snowflaking it

On Monday, I'll be starting The Artist's Way again. I'm really looking forward to it. I had gotten through a few weeks and then Amber arrived and I've only now gotten to where I can give it attention again.  I have been doing the morning pages again for a while. It’s nice to have a place to ‘dump’ all the chaotic thoughts streaming through my head. Now to begin stirring the creative juices some more with Artist Dates and stuff. Anyone out there want to join me? Just leave a comment. I’ll actually be posting about my journey through The Artist’s Way on my creativity blog. I’ll post the blog when I actually begin.

As far as writing goes, Bob bought me my headphones and the kids are slowly learning to not disturb mom when she’s wearing them. For example, Christian (7) just tapped my shoulder and then noticed the headphones. He’s getting closer lol. Seriously though, it makes it easier to get into a writing zone and I especially love to type to the beat of the music. Okay, I know, I sound weird, but I also know that SOMEONE out there knows EXACTLY what I mean.

Writing has been going fairly well. I still need to focus more, but I’m definitely getting into the habit of writing daily. I’m also slowly increasing how much I write. Again, this will be much easier when I focus my efforts on specific writing assignments. I need to build in some market research time to each week, too.

I tend to procrastinate when I’m nervous about putting myself out there. Hmmm. Maybe I should challenge myself. I seem to be doing pretty good with those challenges. Maybe I can begin my rejection letter collection. Or maybe I can be more positive and do a query challenge. Or maybe I can find someone and we can challenge each other.

For now, I’m going to end this post and spend some time with my teething baby who wants nothing more than mama. Poor baby girl.

If anyone wants to join me as I go through The Artist’s Way, leave a comment. If you want to do some sort of a writing challenge, leave a comment. If you want to challenge me with a writing challenge without joining me, leave a comment – I just may take you up on it. If you feel sorry for my comment-less blog post, leave a comment. I know, shameless begging.
