I'm still working through the Snowflake Method and today I cranked out a one page synopsis for Midnight Ride. Granted, I don't know if I did it right since I've never written one before. I'm just thrilled I did it. What's even better is that I have even more of an idea of the details to flesh the basic story out with.
However, it has raised questions, too. I'm now not sure of the tone for this. Do I go with a romantic suspense with a touch of humor or do I go chicklitish with suspense woven in? Do I write in first person or third? Yikes. I have no idea. I do think I want to write in third person because I'd like to get inside of a couple heads rather than just Nicole's.
My plan is to finish the Snowflake for Midnight Ride and then begin writing. I'll see where that takes me. I'm definitely learning a lot more about my characters and my plot. I have five more steps to do (I'm skipping number 9 because it won't work for me) and I'm eager to get through them, learn more and dive into my first draft.
I wonder if I can get it completely written by November. Hmmm. It's a challenge that I will take one day at a time.
For now, it's step five of the Snowflake in my sights.
As for a quick update regarding my challenges: I'm on day 25 today which means I'm 1/4 of the way to reaching the 100 days goal. Yippee! I've also averaged about two hours a week the past two weeks. I've already written for over an hour today so this week is off to a great start. It feels good to be moving forward.
