Bestill me pirates heart...The Redemption is terrific!

  • 100 words in 100 days 12/100

Aye, mate. Are ye lookin’ fer a fine summer read? Then ye just be stayin’ put an’ I’ll be dishin’ up a review fer ye.

I have to admit, I have a fondness for a great pirate story which is why I eagerly agreed to review The Redemption by M.L. Tyndall. I was not disappointed. I absolutely fell in love with the characters and what really made this book different is the fact that the main pirate in the story is a Christian. I know pirates and Christianity don’t sound like they should go together, but MaryLu has pulled it off in this exciting first book of the Legacy of the King’s Pirates series.

Captain Merrick is a pirate and a man of God. Through the book he grows stronger in his walk with the Lord, praying often and trying hard to bring honor to God in all that he does. He slips into his old pirate ways at times, but you can really see his heart and his struggles are authentic.

Lady Charlisse Bristol scorns any man who claims to be a man of faith. She despises everything to do with God, but slowly discovers that he loves her anyway and has his hand on her life even through the horrendous circumstances threatening to swamp her like being the sole survivor of a shipwreck on a deserted island.

MaryLu has weaved an exciting romantic adventure with a strong thread of faith woven throughout the story and I found myself captivated from beginning to end.

If you love a pirate story, check out The Redemption. It has sword fighting, treasure looting, and mutiny - all the ingredients of piracy. An excerpt can be read on MaryLu’s website.
