Back to Day 1 :)

  • 100 words in 100 days Day 1/100

I made it five days and then on Friday, I was gone most of the day. However, I know I could have written 100 words if I'd tried. One thing I learned from this first round is that by the end of the day, I wasn't sure if I’d written that day or not. To solve this dilemma, I have now set up a reminder. Each morning at 7, my computer will announce: Write 100 Words and then it will play a song called Murder She Wrote. Fitting? I think so.

I have to thank Kristin Billerbeck for telling me about this wonderful software called the ADD Planner. It’s fabulous and I’m having way too much fun choosing songs by title to fit the reminder I need. The kids think it’s a blast, too. Every morning at 9:00, These Boots Are Made For Walkin’ plays to remind me to walk over and check my tickler file. I’m sure as I continue to learn how to make this software work for my needs, I’ll find myself getting more done.

This goes back to my topic the other day on bringing some order into my life to help me focus better on the things and people needing my attention. This planner is one of the tools I’m using to help me in this endeavor.

Feel free to comment about any tools you use to help you manage the various things needing your attention. Maybe an idea shared will help another person become more efficient, have more time to spend with family and write.
