Today, I blew the dust off my WIP (work in progress)...

and after much coughing and sneezing, I began to read. I was spellbound, totally gripped by the sheer....

AWFULLNESS of the writing! Man does this thing need some major help lol. There is a ton of telling for one thing. Definitely too much information thrown in and not enough action and this is a suspense novel for crying out loud (we mother's can relate to this phrase either because of our crying babies, toddlers and teens or because we ourselves are doing the weeping).

So, I'm going to spend some time figuring out the different threads (spiritual, romantic, and suspense) and how they intertwine and work with each other. This SOTP writer has decided to do a little bit of plotting, but don't worry, I'll always remain somewhat a SOTPster.

To start the previously unexplored world of plotting and organizing for a novel, I bought myself a bulletin board and plan to map out the three threads (if any writers out there can think of a thread I'm missing, drop me a comment) on 3x5 cards and I'll weave them in and out of each other for a visual idea of how they flow.

I think my plan will work, but then I have no experience in doing this lol. Any writers have some advice?

On the writer's growth side, I plan on reading some writing books to help me learn more of what I need to learn about writing which is...well...everything lol.

Anyway, that's my plan and I'm sticking to it, unless someone advises me otherwise.

2 Prose by others.
